Simply Rose began her musical journey in Chicago, Illinois, at just 12 years old, captivating audiences as the opening act for legendary artists like James Brown, Al Green, and the Stylist. Over the years, she has drawn inspiration from countless musicians, ultimately discovering her unique sound as the "Sultry Songstress." With a deep passion for music, Simply Rose invites her fans to experience her latest CD, "Getting Back to Me," a heartfelt reflection of her artistic evolution. Simply Rose's journey in theater began in 1975 at the Better Foundation Community Center, where she discovered her passion for the stage. She quickly gained recognition with a starring role in the urban classic play "Black Fairy" and showcased her vocal talents in "Mainline winning first place in a theater competition. After moving to Los Angeles in 1979, she continued to shine in community college productions, taking on memorable roles such as "Aunt Em" in The Wiz and "Dolly Levi" in Hello Dolly. Rose has since carved out a unique niche in theater, writing impactful comedy/drama and outreach musical plays that address vital health care issues, including mental illness, homelessness, and chronic diseases, while also adding to her repertoire with murder mysteries and children's productions. ​
